Programme code: W2-S2BI19.2022

Module name: Ultrastructure of the eukaryotic cell
Module code: 2BL_17a
Programme code: W2-S2BI19.2022
Semester:
  • winter semester 2025/2026
  • winter semester 2024/2025
Language of instruction: depending on the choice
Form of verification: exam
ECTS credits: 4
Description:
The module “Ultrastructure of the eukaryotic cell” familiarize the student with the construction and principle of operation of the electron microscope. The student learn the basics of the preparation the biological material for electron microscopy. Acquire knowledge of the ultrastructure of individual elements of animal and plant cells. Possess the ability to analyze the ultrastructure of eukaryotic cells and to identify the basic cellular structures. The acquired knowledge will allow to understand the relationships between ultrastructure and the function of cellular elements and will demonstrate the complexity of eukaryotic cell ultrastructure.
Prerequisites:
Recommended: Implementation of learning outcomes from the module on cell biology.
