Purpose and description of the content of education:
The purpose of the module is for students to acquire knowledge, skills and competencies in the organization and principles of local self-government in Poland. Students are expected to derive from the course the knowledge of basic issues concerning the essence and concept of local self-government, the organization of the commune, district and province, the forms of cooperation of local self-government units, the tasks of local self-government, as well as the principles of supervision of local self-government administration. Within the framework of the subject, current legal issues are discussed, taking into account the historical context. In addition, attention is paid to the practical aspects of the functioning of local administration, so students should acquire the ability to apply theoretical knowledge (e.g. through knowledge of the principles of adopting resolutions, the ability to draft legal acts or letters in administrative or administrative court proceedings involving local government units).
