Purpose and description of the content of education:
The module aims to familiarize students with the sources of EU law, the institutional structure of the European Union and the competencies of the various institutions and bodies. Thus, the following issues will be among those discussed: the distinction between primary and derived law, as well as institutional and substantive law; the specifics of the forms of derived law (regulations, directives, decisions, opinions and recommendations); the composition, internal structure, decision-making processes and rules of functioning of key EU institutions, such as the European Parliament, the European Council, the Council of the EU, the European Commission, the European Central Bank, the Court of Justice of the EU and the Court of Auditors. The module is tailored to the needs of the entrepreneurship student, which is reflected in the emphasis on the role and competencies of the Economic and Social Committee as a body representing the interests of employers and employees at the EU level, as well as selected specialized EU agencies, such as the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.
