Purpose and description of the content of education: | The aim of the module is to introduce the student to the foundations of hermeneutics as a theory, methodology and practice of reading (and interpreting) a literary text understood as an act of cognitive, existential and ethical value. Understanding reading will be presented as an attempt to answer questions about meaning and significance, an attempt at cognition and self-knowledge, but also - situating oneself in relation to values and in relation to the Other, and finally - encounter and dialogue. Demonstrating models of comprehensible readings of works in class is intended to give students a reading methodology to stimulate, support and guide their ability to pursue meaning in what ever they find themselves reading |
