Purpose and description of the content of education:
The purpose of the course is to familiarize the student with the role of public administration and local government in the protection of human and civil rights. It is assumed that after the PCwA course the student should be able to navigate the national, European and international space in the field of human rights. He/she should understand the importance of the principles of administrative law in upholding human rights, in particular the principles of democratic rule of law, decentralization, subsidiarity, proportionality and sustainable development. He/she should also be able to evaluate legislative initiatives and administrative decisions in the context of respect for human rights, especially of vulnerable groups. The subject provides information on international human rights standards and human rights protection mechanisms.
