Purpose and description of the content of education:
The subject is intended to equip students with basic knowledge of the legally prescribed activities aimed at resolving the responsibility of the accused for the crime charged. In the course of teaching, the student should, in particular, be acquainted with the principles governing the course of proceedings and determining the functioning of procedural bodies and other participants in criminal proceedings. The purpose of teaching criminal procedure is also to provide elementary knowledge of civil law and procedure to the extent used in the criminal process (i.e., in the event of claims for wrongful conviction, pretrial detention and detention). The teaching result is to be the acquisition of the necessary theoretical knowledge by the student, as well as the provision of information on the views formulated in doctrine and jurisprudence. In addition, the student should be equipped with the ability to independently interpret procedural regulations that raise doubts. It is also necessary to develop the competence to solve legal problems occurring against the background of the indicated facts. Teaching the ability to find solutions to individual cases should be combined with attempts to draft procedural decisions (including judgments resolving the issue of criminal responsibility of the accused, decisions on discontinuance of the trial, orders on the appointment of the main hearing).
