Purpose and description of the content of education:
Participatory internships provide students with the opportunity to conduct art therapy classes, developed and conducted under the supervision of a internship supervisor (academic teacher). The group is selected based on the analysis of participants' age preferences and knowledge of the specifics of the group's functioning. The practice area will be educational, care, upbringing, rehabilitation, diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. The student develops methodological skills, using knowledge of the theoretical foundations of art therapy. It implements artistic projects taking into account the interdisciplinary combination of artistic media and, above all, applies them adequately to the needs and perceptual and performance capabilities of the participants. Students additionally learn cooperation, as classes are conducted in co-therapeutic pairs. They analyze the method and quality of establishing contact with participants, verify the accuracy of the methods and forms used. They also define their interpersonal resources, point out their strengths and isolate less satisfying areas that are worth developing.
