Purpose and description of the content of education: | The module consists of 2 semesters and provides an introduction and familiarization of the student with the history of art from prehistoric times to the end of the 19th century (from Paleolithic to Impressionism). The lectures are aimed at presenting the history of art and related disciplines (architecture, design, aesthetics, etc.).
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge and its integration with various fields of artistic culture and to combine them in the historical process, as well as to acquire methodological tools for interpreting the trend, tendencies and the work of art itself and to place it in a specific cultural context, acquiring the ability to describe the work, knowledge of terminology and the ability to initially classify works, trends and periods.
The lectures will be presented chronologically and contextually. The historical aspect will be presented as a diachronic narrative, while the contextual aspect will include analogies and differences with art (culture) treated as a comprehensive structure.
Module 1 begins with a general introduction to the issues of art – its definition, ways of appearing and articulation in time and space, followed by issues ranging from prehistoric art to classicism. |
