Purpose and description of the content of education: | The student learns about the sources of terminology in bibliology and information science and acquires skills in using terminological databases. They absorb English terminology related to bibliology and information science and related disciplines, including names of disciplines, sub-disciplines, and research fields. They become familiar with vocabulary related to using libraries and their WWW services and handling various types of information retrieval systems. The student acquires elementary communication competencies useful for using English-language libraries and information centers and for operating English-language information systems, including library catalogs, bibliographic databases, etc. |
