Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to familiarize students with various types of special documents collected in libraries and cultural institutions and to acquire skills in formal processing of these documents using appropriate norms, regulations, and formats. During classes, cataloging regulations for documents according to ISBD (International Standard Bibliographic Description), the Polish Norm sheet (PN-N-01152 Bibliographic Description), and the cataloging rules of the National Library are discussed. Students prepare bibliographic descriptions of special documents of various types presented in MARC 21 format.
