Purpose and description of the content of education: | As part of the module, students acquire specialist historical and contemporary bookbinding knowledge. As a result of the acquired knowledge, students can independently assess the state of preservation of a document and, thanks to workshop practice, carry out design, security and repair activities. Practical competencies developed during laboratory classes will enable the implementation of bookbinding work in libraries and social institutions that produce and collect documents. |

Students know the history of book binding techniques and methods and binding styles in force in a given era. By gaining in-depth knowledge of the bookbinding craft, they learn about the processes involved in developing various binding techniques and the materials used for this purpose.
