Purpose and description of the content of education:
The module provides an introduction to selected philosophical theories focusing on the human-nature relationship, presented in historical and systematic terms through the analysis of canonical texts of Western philosophy. The aim of the course will be to critically discuss the formation of the anthropocentric position of man in relation to nature and its representation in Western philosophy. The discussion of the selected approaches in environmental ethics will equip students with the skills to make a multi-faceted analysis of social and political problems using philosophical reflection.
