Module name: Speculative thinking workshop
Module code: W1-SH-S1-WSM
Programme code: W1-S1SH24.2024
Semester: summer semester 2025/2026
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: course work
ECTS credits: 3
Purpose and description of the content of education:
The module aims to develop the ability to create scenarios of hypothetical visions of the future based on contemporary data and analysis of current trends. Such scenarios provide an opportunity to analyse different variations of possible realities and to show students how fiction provides the knowledge needed to plan changes affecting the wider environment. As part of the course students: 1) become familiar with historical and current models of futurological predictions; 2) become familiar with the tools needed to analyse and interpret these models; 3) acquire the competences to design their own future scenarios.
