Purpose and description of the content of education:
The course aims to familiarize students with the world's most important philosophical and religious systems. Students will learn about the specifics of the systems and their implications for international politics. Students explore the history, development, and significance of Christianity as a religious and philosophical system that has helped shape much of Western thought and culture. In addition to analyzing Christianity's influence on the ancient and modern world, its interactions with other major religious traditions, such as Judaism and Islam, will be explored. Participants in the course will also become familiar with key concepts in the social sciences, such as secularization, modernization and development. Upon completion of the course, students will not only expand their knowledge of key philosophical concepts (i.e., good, evil, justice). Still, they will also become much better versed in religious history and analysis of the phenomena surrounding modernity.
