Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the course is to acquaint the student with the relations that exist between tourism and the natural and cultural environment. The student is able to define interactions of tourism and natural and cultural environment, gets to know basic indicators evaluating these relations and diagnoses irregularities. The student gets to know basic legal acts, institutions and organizations regulating the influence of tourism on the natural and cultural environment (to make him aware of the threats of tourist anthropopression and to acquaint him with the mechanisms of limiting the negative influence of tourism on the environment). The student is introduced to the idea of sustainable tourism (types of ecotourism, examples of ecotourism products, UNWTO initiatives).
