Purpose and description of the content of education:
Moduł ma pomóc studentowi w poznaniu początków i rozwoju chrześcijaństwa w kontekście przemian społeczno-religijnych Cesarstwa Rzymskiego; przybliża także średniowieczne dzieje Kościoła, podejmowane próby reformy, konfrontację z ruchami nieortodoksyjnymi i religiami pozachrześcijańskimi, działalność krucjatową w Ziemi Świętej i w Europie, wewnętrzne podziały chrześcijaństwa i próby ich przezwyciężania, odnowienie idei soborowej w średniowieczu i tendencje koncyliarystyczne. Moduł ma pomóc także w zdobyciu umiejętności rozpoznawania radykalnych postaw wobec doczesności w religijności średniowiecznej. Dzięki temu student powinien lepiej zrozumieć relacje między heterodoksyjnymi i heretyckimi formami tego radykalizmu a jego przejawami bardziej łagodnymi i kościelnymi.
