ECTS credits: | 4 |
Purpose and description of the content of education: | The aim of the course is to familiarise students with analytical techniques used in biological sciences. The scope of the course includes: methods of sampling, sample preservation, preparation of samples for analysis, instrumental analysis, methods of archiving results, processing of the obtained results and their interpretation.
The physical and chemical bases of the techniques used are presented, as well as the principles of operation of the equipment used. Within the scope of the classes, students become acquainted with, among others, the following methods: isotopic, centrifugation and ultracentrifugation, fluorescence, gas and liquid chromatography, scanning microscopy
liquid, scanning electron microscopy, fluorescence microscopy with microscopic image analysis and the Path Clamp technique. During the course the student has the opportunity to program the apparatus independently. |
