Purpose and description of the content of education:
W ramach modułu studenci zapoznają się z historią filmu dokumentalnego. Kino dokumentalne, które podlega współcześnie dynamicznym i złożonym przemianom, jest zarazem tematem pozostającym wiecznie w cieniu filmu fabularnego w refleksji filmoznawczej: zwraca uwagę brak analiz i interpretacji twórczości wielu wybitnych autorów filmów dokumentalnych, znacznie trudniej także o dostęp do klasycznych filmów tego rodzaju kina. Opierając się na wiedzy i rekomendacjach prowadzącego, moduł ma za zadanie dostarczyć studentom wyszukanych treści, które pozbawione siły mainstreamowej promocji mogłyby inaczej nie dotrzeć do studiujących filmowców. Następnie moduł otwiera pole do dyskusji na tematy problemów filmu dokumentalnego: narracji w filmach dokumentalnych, problemów etycznych, cenzury i subtekstu, problemów podmiotowych poruszonych przez autorów filmów. Tym samym wprowadza on studentów w zagadnienia charakterystyczne dla filmu dokumentalnego nim ci przystąpią do własnych realizacji.
