Purpose and description of the content of education:
Termin fotografika, oznaczające de facto szeroko pojętą fotografię artystyczną, wprowadził Jan Bułhak, filozof i teoretyk fotografii, w celu odróżnienia jej od fotografii rozumianej jako działalność hobbystyczna, komercyjna lub użytkowa. Zajęcia z fotografiki mają na celu budowanie świadomości artystycznej studentów w dziedzinie fotografii, traktowanej jako suwerenną dyscyplinę artystyczną. Cel ten realizowany jest między innymi poprzez analizy wybitnych dzieł fotograficznych pod kierunkiem wykładowcy. Szczególna uwaga zwrócona zostaje na świadome wykorzystanie przez artystów typowych dla fotografii środków wyrazu oraz na walory estetyczne i formalne analizowanych dzieł.
