Purpose and description of the content of education:
The Plant physiology module enables the student to learn about the following processes in plants: water uptake and transport, the function of macro- and micronutrients and mechanisms of their uptake, types of photosynthesis and their chemistry, catabolic processes with special emphasis on processes occurring primarily in plants, types of phytohormones and their synthesis, the role of phytohormones in plant growth and development and their mechanisms of action, photomorphogenesis, photoperiodic induction, plant movements, photoreceptors and their involvement in plant growth and development, the adaptation of plants to adverse environmental conditions.
