Purpose and description of the content of education:
Moduł Ze studiów nad totalitaryzmem sowieckim ma na celu zapoznanie osoby studiującej z odmianą totalitaryzmu ukształtowaną w Związku Radzieckim po dojściu do władzy bolszewików w roku 1917 (totalitaryzm sowiecki, komunistyczny). W ramach zajęć wytłumaczone zostają różnice pomiędzy totalitaryzmem sowieckim a innymi totalitaryzmami europejskimi (marksizm, faszyzm, nazizm). Omówione zostają okoliczności formowania się radzieckiego państwa totalitarnego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem roli Stalina, oraz zmiany zachodzące w totalitaryzmie w okresie rządów jego następców (Chruszczow, Breżniew). Analizie poddany zostaje sposób funkcjonowania społeczeństwa radzieckiego w warunkach totalitarnych (cenzura, służby bezpieczeństwa, system łagrów, „homo sovieticus”).
