Purpose and description of the content of education: | The course's primary objective is to familiarize the student with the fundamental issues related to the complex aspects of team management in administration and to correlate theoretical and practical knowledge (case studies during classes). An essential effect of the course is preparing students to solve problems independently. The course aims to provide thorough and systematic knowledge of management in public administration, especially in the context of trends occurring in the environment of contemporary public and private organizations. As a result of the module, the student should:
- Understand the essence and importance of human capital in administration and the premises of a strategic approach to human resource management;
- Identify basic psychological concepts and internal and external conditions of this process;
- Know the procedures and tools for managing employee teams, including human resource planning, employee recruitment, selection of candidates and introducing a new employee to work in a group;
- Recognize the basic techniques and methods of employee evaluation and construct a simple system for practical employee evaluation;
- Recognize the impact and importance of individual motivation tools;
- Know the theories of employee career development and the path of his improvement;
- Acquire the ability to effectively and ethically manage a team of employees in correlation with the strategy of administration;
- Acquire the ability to diagnose, based on psychological knowledge, various behaviours of individuals in employee teams and to properly control them to support the individual goals of employees and create coherent and efficient units in public administration. |
