Purpose and description of the content of education: | The aim of the course is for students to learn the issues related to the functioning of local government in Poland (history, concept, principles, theoretical and legal basis, tasks), its place in public administration, the organizational structure of local government units - municipality, county, region, the method of selecting members of bodies of these units, forms of direct democracy, principles of financial management, forms of cooperation of local government units. Based on the comparative method, issues relating to the functioning of local government in selected European countries will be discussed.
As part of the module, the student learns the structure, tasks and principles of operation of local government units in Poland and selected European countries. |
