Description:
The program aims at introducing students to the fundamental issues present in contemporary art, which are based not only on the problem of intermediality but, above all, on the dialogue with the existing visual tradition. Students will gain knowledge about the categories and notions characteristic of the philosophy of culture and art, which have been redefined or expanded, such as work of art (artistic object, aesthetic object) - anti-art; relation of art to reality; aesthetic experience; artistic value - aesthetic value (beauty and other aesthetic values); concepts of creativity; defining the role of the artist; cultural conditions of art and aesthetic experience. In addition, students will become acquainted with the leading directions in the field of visual arts in the 20th and 21st century, with the works and works of the most representative artists, and they will get to know opinion-forming centers, galleries, and museums.
Prerequisites:
The student knows the genres, forms, and styles of film, photography, and new media.
