Optional subject: • Budgeting for an audiovisual project • Budgeting for an event Description of the subject: Budgeting for an audiovisual project This subject aims to have the skills in costing, for example, planning the costs associated with creative and production activities in the media industry. The issues covered in the module are budget planning, creation, approval, and control. The course will present the basics of creating a cost estimate, standard rates, types of costs, and their calculation. The objective of the module is for the student to acquire knowledge of the cost components of a project or venture, financial discipline, and planning. The student will learn how to develop cash flows, analyze project finances and monitor tasks performed, and the competencies necessary to evaluate cost and revenue ratios and control lower-level management. Description of the subject: Event Budgeting This course aims to possess skills, for example, cost estimating, planning costs of artistic and other events connected with the new media industry. The issues covered in the module are budget planning, creation, approval, and control. The course will present the basics of creating a cost estimate, standard rates, types of costs, and their calculation. The objective of the module is for the student to acquire knowledge of the components of event costs, financial discipline, and planning. Prerequisites:
Student should know basics of accountancy and MS Excel. He should know techniques of negotiations and interpersonal communication. He should be aware of potential threatens in the multimedia project.
